Rewind Therapy for trauma, PTSD and phobias
Gentle, focused support for distressing memories
Rewind Therapy is a gentle, structured approach that may help people affected by trauma, PTSD, phobias and distressing memories.
At Enestee, Rewind Therapy is offered as part of our wider counselling and mental wellbeing support. Suitability is considered through our Discovery process so we can understand what has brought you to Enestee, what kind of support may be most appropriate, and whether Rewind Therapy may be a suitable option.
Rewind Therapy can be particularly helpful for people who feel affected by past events but do not want to describe every detail of what happened.

What is Rewind Therapy?
Rewind Therapy is a structured therapeutic technique designed to reduce the emotional impact of traumatic or distressing memories.
It is sometimes used with people experiencing symptoms linked to trauma, PTSD, phobias or specific distressing events. The approach is often valued because it does not require people to talk through every detail of the traumatic experience in order to begin working with it.
The aim is to help the brain and nervous system respond differently to the memory, so it feels less overwhelming, intrusive or emotionally charged.
Who Rewind Therapy may help
Rewind Therapy may be suitable for people affected by:
-
trauma
-
PTSD symptoms
-
phobias
-
distressing memories
-
panic linked to a specific event or situation
-
intrusive images or flashbacks
-
nightmares linked to past events
-
fear responses that feel disproportionate or difficult to control
It may also be considered where a person feels stuck with a memory or experience that continues to affect daily life.
Rewind Therapy is not suitable for everyone, which is why Enestee considers suitability carefully through the Discovery process.

What Rewind Therapy is not
Rewind Therapy is not hypnosis in the stage-performance sense.
It is not about making you forget what happened.
It is not about forcing you to relive traumatic experiences.
It is not a guarantee that all symptoms will disappear.
It is not suitable for every person or every trauma presentation.
It is a therapeutic approach that may help reduce the emotional intensity of some traumatic memories, phobias or distressing experiences when used appropriately.
Rewind Therapy and counselling
Some clients may access Rewind Therapy as a focused piece of work. Others may benefit from counselling before, after or alongside trauma-focused support.
At Enestee, we do not assume that one approach is right for everyone. The Discovery process helps us consider the most suitable route into support.
Where counselling is more appropriate, we may recommend support from one of our trusted team of experienced, professionally trained local counsellors.
Where Rewind Therapy may be appropriate, we will explain this clearly and help you understand the next step.
