Finding the right therapist

A clear and uncomplicated route into counselling

Starting counselling can feel like a big step, especially if you are not sure what kind of support you need or who the right counsellor might be.

At Enestee, we use a straightforward matching process to make that first step feel clearer. It helps us understand what has brought you to counselling, what kind of support may be most suitable, and which counsellor may be the right fit from our trusted team of experienced, professionally trained local counsellors.

Therapist matching is not designed to be complicated or overwhelming. It is a calm, respectful first stage that helps us guide you towards suitable support.

Once you click into the Matching Process you then simply complete a form and answer some questions all online. The process will take less than 5 minutes.

What Matching helps us understand

The Matching process helps us understand:

  • what has brought you to counselling

  • what you are finding difficult at the moment

  • whether you are looking for short-term support or deeper therapeutic work

  • whether face-to-face, online or telephone counselling may be most appropriate

  • any preferences you may have around your counsellor

  • practical considerations such as availability and location

  • any risk or safety considerations that need to be understood

  • whether Enestee is the right place to support you

  • which counsellor may be most suitable for your needs

This helps us make a thoughtful recommendation rather than a random allocation.

A comprehensive but uncomplicated process

Matching is designed to be thorough enough to be useful, but simple enough to feel manageable.
You do not need to arrive with everything worked out. You do not need to know exactly what type of therapy you need. You do not need to explain everything in detail before support can begin.
The process is there to help us understand the shape of what you need, so we can guide you towards the most suitable next step.

Matching you with a suitable counsellor

Counselling is personal. The right support depends on more than availability alone.

Through Discovery, we consider which counsellor may be most suitable based on your needs, preferences, the type of support required and the counsellor’s experience and availability.

Our focus is primarily local, face-to-face counselling in Flintshire and the surrounding area. Online or telephone counselling may also be available where appropriate.

Experienced local counsellors

Enestee works with experienced, professionally trained local counsellors who are committed to ethical, client-centred practice.

We are building a trusted sessional counselling team that supports Enestee’s focus on calm, grounded and meaningful face-to-face counselling.

Enestee is not a trainee-led counselling model. Our aim is to provide clients with access to mature, thoughtful and professionally grounded support.

What Matching is not

  • Matching is not a test.

  • It is not about judging you.

  • It is not about asking you to share every detail before counselling begins.

  • It is not a diagnosis.

  • It is not a guarantee of a perfect match.

  • It is a supportive first step designed to help us understand your needs and recommend a suitable route into counselling.

What happens after Matching?

After Matching, we will usually recommend one of the following next steps:

  • counselling with a suitable Enestee counsellor

  • Rewind Therapy or trauma-focused support, where appropriate

  • online or telephone support, if suitable

  • a further conversation before deciding

  • signposting to another service if Enestee is not the most appropriate option

If counselling with Enestee is suitable, we will explain the next step clearly so you know what to expect.

Nigel Skinner’s role

Enestee is founded and led by Nigel Skinner, Founder and Practice Director.

Nigel oversees the professional direction, values and standards of the practice, helping ensure that Enestee’s counselling pathways remain ethical, thoughtful and grounded in client need.

The Matching process supports Enestee’s wider aim: to provide local people with a clearer, safer and more supported route into counselling.

Start your enquiry

If you are considering counselling, you do not need to know exactly what support you need before getting in touch.

Start with an enquiry, and we will guide you through the Discovery process.
