About Nigel Skinner
At Enestee, we believe therapy should feel safe, professional and human. My approach reflects this: offering a calm, confidential and supportive space where you can talk openly, feel genuinely heard, and begin to make sense of what is happening in your life.
You may be considering counselling because anxiety, low mood, stress, relationship difficulties or life pressures have started to feel harder to manage. Perhaps you feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or unsure how to move forward. You might be carrying experiences from the past, dealing with challenges in the present, or simply feeling that something needs to change.
I am a counsellor based at Enestee in Holywell, North Wales, working with adults experiencing a range of emotional and psychological difficulties. My work is grounded in providing a steady, respectful and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace.
As the founder of Enestee, I have developed the practice around a clear set of values: counselling should be ethical, credible, compassionate and rooted in real human connection. Enestee has grown from my belief that people deserve local mental wellbeing support that feels professional, thoughtful and personal, rather than distant or impersonal.
My approach is integrative and shaped around you. I draw on different therapeutic ideas and ways of working depending on what feels most helpful for your situation. Together, we may explore patterns in your thoughts, feelings, relationships and behaviours, consider how past experiences may be influencing the present, and work towards a deeper understanding of yourself and your circumstances.
For some people, therapy is about having space to process painful or confusing experiences. For others, it may involve developing practical ways to manage stress, anxiety, emotional overwhelm or difficult life transitions. Often, it is a combination of both: creating space for reflection while also supporting meaningful change.
I place strong importance on the therapeutic relationship. I believe that feeling safe, respected and understood is central to effective counselling. My aim is to offer a professional and compassionate space where you do not feel judged, rushed or reduced to a problem to be solved.
Alongside my client work, I continue to develop Enestee as a local mental wellbeing consultancy with a wider commitment to community, ethical practice and accessible support. This includes building a practice that can support individuals, local organisations and the wider North East Wales community while retaining the personal, human feel that sits at the heart of counselling.
I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting. It can take courage to speak about things that may feel private, painful or difficult to put into words. My role is to meet you with warmth, honesty and professionalism, and to support you in exploring whatever has brought you to counselling.
