Enestee Community Wellbeing Partnership

Positive wellbeing, stronger sport.

Grassroots sport plays a powerful role in young people’s lives. It helps build confidence, friendships, discipline, resilience and a sense of belonging. But young players, parents and coaches also face pressure — from performance expectations, setbacks, injuries, selection decisions, nerves, team dynamics, school demands and everyday life.

The Enestee Community Wellbeing Partnership has been created to help clubs and associations make positive wellbeing more visible, accessible and practical across their sporting community.

This is not about turning coaches into counsellors or asking clubs to become mental health services. It is about giving players, parents and coaching staff simple, useful wellbeing messages and clear signposting when further support may be needed.

What the partnership provides

Enestee works with clubs and associations to create a visible, practical wellbeing layer that can sit alongside existing sport, welfare and safeguarding structures.

The partnership can include:

Monthly wellbeing themes
A simple monthly focus such as confidence, pressure, resilience, teamwork, rest, belonging, managing setbacks or asking for help.

Youth member resources
Age-appropriate wellbeing information to help young players understand emotions, confidence, pressure and performance in a simple, relatable way.

Parent and carer guidance
Practical information to help families support young people through the ups and downs of sport.

Coach and staff guidance
Clear, boundaried resources to help coaches encourage positive wellbeing, notice when someone may be struggling, and signpost safely.

A dedicated wellbeing portal
A central online space where members can access the current monthly theme, previous subjects and support information.

Signposting and support information
Clear guidance on where to go if someone needs further help, including appropriate safeguarding, crisis and wellbeing support routes.

Why it matters

Young people do not leave their emotions at the side of the rink, pitch, court or track. Confidence, pressure, disappointment, friendship, identity and belonging are all part of sport.

A wellbeing partnership helps clubs and associations:

  • promote a positive and responsible wellbeing culture

  • give families useful, practical support

  • help coaches feel more confident around wellbeing conversations

  • strengthen community identity beyond sporting performance

  • show sponsors, parents and supporters that wellbeing is taken seriously

  • provide clear signposting without placing extra pressure on volunteers

A light-touch model

The partnership is designed to be simple, sustainable and low-pressure for clubs.

Enestee creates the wellbeing content and structure. The club or association helps share it through existing communication routes such as websites, newsletters, social media, QR codes, posters, programmes or member updates.

This means the wellbeing message becomes visible without creating a heavy workload for committee members, coaches or volunteers.

Example monthly themes

A 12-month wellbeing calendar could include:

  • Confidence: bouncing back after mistakes

  • Teamwork: being a supportive teammate

  • Pressure: managing pre-game nerves

  • Rest: why recovery matters

  • Belonging: friendship and connection through sport

  • Change: settling into a new team

  • Resilience: coping with setbacks

  • Reflection: celebrating effort, not just results

Each subject is tailored separately for young players, parents and coaches.

Safe and responsible boundaries

The Enestee Community Wellbeing Partnership provides general wellbeing education, awareness and signposting.

It does not replace safeguarding procedures, emergency support, medical advice, crisis services or counselling. Coaches and volunteers are not expected to become mental health professionals. Their role remains to notice, listen appropriately, maintain safe boundaries and follow agreed club or association procedures.
